Garfield and Friends, is an American animated television series based on the comic strip Garfield by Jim Davis. The show was produced by Film Roman and ran on CITV in the UK from 2 August 1989 to 2002, which makes it one of the network's longest running toons.
In addition to the cartoons featuring Garfield, the series also included cartoons featuring the characters from Orson's Farm, a comic strip Davis was drawing concurrently with Garfield.
A total of 121 episodes were made, each consisting of two Garfield segments and one Orson's Farm segment, totaling 242 Garfield segments and 121 Orson's Farm segments.
A DVD boxset containing the first 24 episodes was released on 21 November 2005 by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment as "Garfield and Friends: Volume 1, Box of Fun".
